TikTok Clipper — Your data, your control

1. Overview

TikTok Clipper is a locally-running application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.

Key principle: TikTok Clipper runs entirely on your local machine. No video content, personal data, or API credentials are sent to any external server other than the official YouTube and TikTok APIs.

3. External Services

The Service communicates with:

YouTube (yt-dlp) — to download trending video metadata and files. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to data sent during this process.
Hugging Face Hub — to download AI translation models on first use (~130 MB). No personal data is sent; only model file requests.
TikTok API — to publish clips you authorize. Data sent includes the video file and caption. This only happens when you explicitly click "Publish".

4. Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your machine. You can delete all data at any time using the "Cleanup" button in Settings, or manually delete the data/ folder.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

The Service does not include any analytics, tracking, telemetry, or advertising. No data is collected about your usage patterns.

6. Third-Party Services

This Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube, TikTok, or their parent companies beyond the official API integrations described above.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
